Linye 麟冶 (b. 1988, Sichuan, China) is a lens-based artist whose work challenges conventional storytelling in art and probes into themes such as gender roles, the continuity and evolution of cultural heritage within contemporary culture, and the dynamics of personal versus public identity. Linye earned her Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Linye's artistic approach includes photo sculptures, installations, videos, and performances, influenced by personal experiences and observations, particularly her family's queer story within a conservative society. This intimate connection lends authenticity and emotional depth to her creations.
